How to Spend a Day in Palm Beach | Lili Bermuda

How to Spend a Day in Palm Beach | Lili Bermuda
Palm Beach… For many Bermudians, they call Palm Beach their home away from home. Palm Beach is known for its rich history, luxurious shopping, manicured landscapes and old world charm. There is no shortage of ways to spend your days exploring this pristine island, and your first stop should certainly be to Worth Avenue, the newest home of Lili Bermuda perfumes.
Worth Avenue was established when Henry Flagler built the railroad and opened the Royal Poinciana Hotel in 1894, which was the beginning of this resort haven. Addison Mizner, a talented architect connected with Paris Singer, heir to the Singer sewing machine fortune, and brought Mediterranean architecture to Palm Beach. The town of Palm Beach works hard to keep Worth Avenue true to its original roots, and you can find spectacular architectural details in every nook and cranny from the archways covered in climbing bougainvillea, to the quaint Vias that span the 4 blocks of Worth Avenue.
If history is for you, we recommend visiting on a Wednesday, so you can take the Palm Beach Walking Tour with Rick Rose. He tells the most interesting tales of the history of Palm Beach, and all the characters who have become legendary. When visiting Palm Beach, be sure to swing by Via Newsome, where you can take Instagram worthy photos and smell the notes of Paradise in the new Lili Bermuda perfume shoppe which opened in August of 2019.
While exploring the Vias of Worth Avenue, stop into Via Mizner for a bite at Pizza Al Fresco, and dine outside in this intimate courtyard that instantly transports you to another world. Many days, you can find models walking the Avenue and Vias to showcase the latest designs and gifts, bringing the shopping experience right to your table. You can also see the original store front of where Lilly Pulitzer had her original Juice stand, before she turned into the fashion power house she is known for today. Another Palm Beach institution is the restaurant Taboo, which has been an island staple since 1941. It’s said “If you were not seen at Taboo, you were not seen in town.”
We recommend resting your head at the Breakers Hotel, which was originally named the Palm beach Inn, built by Henry Flagler in 1896. They have the most extravagant Sunday brunch in their circle room, where you can listen to a harp play while you enjoy your bottomless mimosas. If you aren’t an early riser, you can enjoy cocktails and sushi at the Seafood Bar, where the bar itself is a living aquarium of coral and fish. Sip your dirty martini as you look out at the Ocean, crashing on the rocky coastline.
Palm Beach is a lush island paradise, where many have winter homes to escape their winter blues. From its white sand beaches, luxurious hotels, divine dining, and exquisite shopping, Palm Beach is certain to be a trip filled with memories to last you a lifetime.
